“Just Asking” with Worcester Sharks Dan DaSilva
On March 8, I sent a tweet to Worcester Sharks forward Dan DaSilva {@wsharksdasilva}, asking him if he wouldn’t mind answering 20 questions for this week’s installment of “Just Asking.” Not only did Mr. DaSilva tweet back “Sure Jon, I’d be happy to do it,” but he also tweeted me his email address so I could send him the questions, which he quickly responded to. I would like to thank Mr. DaSilva for responding as quickly as he did and wish him the best as the Sharks battle it out for the last guaranteed playoff spot in the Atlantic Division of the AHL Eastern Conference. To date, DaSilva has 34 points {14 goals, 20 assists} in 68 games with the Sharks this season.
On my days off, I like to…Hangout, rest and get all my errands done for the week.
Favorite road city…I like playing in Providence. They get good crowds and its a big rivalry.
Exercise I hate the most…Chin ups.
Favorite dessert…Pecan Pie.
My hockey idol is…Eric Lindros
The piece of equipment I’m the pickiest about is…Skates.
Who has the hardest shot on the team…Nick Petrecki.
Who’s your roommate on the road…Andrew Desjardins.
My favorite pre-game meal is…Chicken and pasta with vodka sauce.
Favorite sport outside hockey…Golf.
Funniest person on the Worcester Sharks is…Carter Hutton.
Teammate I hang out with the most…Andrew Desjardins.
Favorite hockey moment…Winning city championships with all my closest friends in Pee-Wee.
My first job was…Newspaper delivery boy. I would go and deliver them on my rollerblades.
What would you do for a living if it wasn’t for hockey…Probably be a teacher or sports broadcaster.
To pass the time on long trips…I listen to music, tweet and go on Facebook.
Favorite professional sports team (other than sharks)…New Orleans Saints.
People say I look like…Ryan Reynolds.
Why do you wear your jersey number…I was given 23 in midget and had a good year. So I went back to it when I got to Worcester and I’ve had three good seasons wearing it.
Who do you model your playing style after…I’d like to say Eric Lindros or a more modern player would be Ryane Clowe.
